The 59th Venice Art Biennale was postponed to 2022 - presumably, it will be held from April 23 to November 27.

This decision was made, since most of the architects involved in the project requested a postponement due to the pandemic. Cecilia Alemani, curator of the New York High-Line Park and art director of the next Biennale, added that the exhibition will open two days before the date when Italy traditionally celebrates the end of World War II. “I hope that this event will mark a new holiday of unity and complicity, which we have already missed,” Alemani added. So, the Venice Art Biennale will coincide with the holding of Documenta, another leading European exhibition of contemporary art, which they plan to open in June 2022 in Kassel. The 17th architectural biennale “How will we live together?”, which, despite all the circumstances, was planned to be held this August, was moved to May 2021: it will be held from May 22 to November 21.
