Representatives of the Metropolitan Museum reported that they decided not to hold the annual Met Gala Costume Institute ball in 2020. The organizers explained the cancellation of the event by the fact that in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, the healthcare sector is experiencing a severe financial crisis and needs help. Therefore, they cannot afford to invest so much money in entertainment in this difficult time. However, the exhibition About Time: Fashion and Duration, which was supposed to open on May 4, will nevertheless take place - it will be held from October 29 to February 7. In addition, the Metropolitan Museum said it plans to open to visitors after quarantine ends in mid-August.
