The first outlet of the Harrods department store opened in Westfield Shopping Center in London. According to The Business of Fashion, this happened a few days after the news of mass cuts in the company - it is reported that 600 out of 4800 Harrods employees will lose their jobs. In the new two-story outlet, you can find the items of the brands that are presented on the Harrods website. 80 employees work there. Usually, a sale in the Knightsbridge department store lasts four weeks - so much time is needed to clean the warehouses, and this despite the fact that 80 thousand people come to the store every day. Now at the store can be 4,500 customers. The sale was supposed to last months. “I don’t think people understand how painful the last 90 days have been. This is the reality that we all face. A new norm has appeared, and we must adapt quickly to it, ”said Harrods CEO Michael Ward. He noted that the company can return to its usual state only by 2022.
