The NYFW Bridal Support Plan During The Coronavirus Outbreak

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has been on careful watch regarding the impact of COVID-19 on our industry and all related functions and programming. We received several updates from participating NYFW: Bridal brands regarding show cancellations and postponements for the upcoming season, currently scheduled Thursday, April 16-Monday, April 20. With these developments in mind, protecting the health and wellbeing of all teams is first and foremost.

With the support of The Bridal Council, it is strongly advised for all teams to cancel and reformat live shows and presentations scheduled next month to show their newest collections digitally, or in a similar format. This measure is advocated to protect both the safety of all participants while respecting brands’ businesses and operations both domestically and abroad.

As an alternative, the CFDA will promote designers via digital lookbook collection releases on CFDA.com through a centralized portal here that it’ll use to direct retail and media with listed contact information for the bridal community to directly connect with participating teams. In addition, this effort will be promoted through CFDA social media channels.
