Since 2005, Emerging Creatives has provided current students and recent graduates from South Africa’s art and design schools to present their work to industry and the public.
This year’s Emerging Creatives were curated by a jury of previous Emerging Creatives exhibitors: milliner Crystal Birch, art director Mokoena Kobeli and furniture designer Siyanda Mbele.
40 of the selected Emerging Creatives will exhibit their work at Design Indaba 2020 in Cape Town, and a further 10 young designers will showcase their projects in Johannesburg.
Emerging Creatives features a range of creative disciplines including graphic design, illustration, jewellery and accessory design, product and furniture. In this post, we’ll take a look at the fashion, textiles and accessories designers taking part in the show at Design Indaba 2020.
