Kiev, September 9th 2019 – Shai Shalom, one of Israel’s most elevated couture designers, has premiered at Ukrainian Fashion Week, UFW SS2020. The colorful and joyous summertime resort collection has been partly exposed at Tel Aviv Fashion Week in March 2019, with brand-new pieces created especially for the show in Kiev, which took place on September 3rd, the fourth day of Ukrainian Fashion Week.

Shai Shalom created a unique summertime collection, which expresses the designer’s distinct worldview and his signature design style, fusing prestige, class, elite tailoring, and a chic fashion vision that energizes a free flow between male and female across a joint axis. It all comes complete with a collection of handbags, characterized by a seasonal look and feel that is free, relaxed, and ultimately unabashed. The bags mirror the sculptured character of the collection pieces, and mix together unexpected materials for a gripping out-of-the-box statement. They are used as beach bags, fit for the essentials only - sunglasses, mobile phone, and a book. Made of wood, perspex, and the choicest leathers, their geometric shapes and rainbow of hues express the spirit of freedom and liberation that is so special to this summer
The original musical track for the show has been arranged by composer David Hason, based on the popular song “Drakosha” by Ukrainian music band Julinoza. The suitable stilettos for the show have been sponsored by Ukrainian shoe retailer INTERTOP.
Mr. Shalom’s show has been received with tremendous praise, culminating in various interviews with mainstream and fashion media and a special press and influencer reception in his honor.

“It has been a highly positive surprise and experience for me to work at Ukrainian Fashion Week. I am very pleased with the feedback I received from guests, press and local fashion influencers. I have been asked several times if I would consider operating in Ukraine and I am open to review relevant business proposals as I believe that Ukrainian women appreciate and understand my work”, announced Shai Shalom after the successful trip.
Shai Shalom’s participation has been supported by the Israeli embassy to Ukraine and the project has been produced by GeekChicTLV, an international fashion production company based in Tel Aviv.
